4/29/2024 - Week 10 Newsletter

Lincoln Track and Field Athletes and Parents,

We concluded another awesome week by seeing our athletes compete at the Twilight Relays and the Oregon Freshman Championships.  Both meets went extremely well for our Lincoln Cards and we now enter the stretch run of our season.  For the majority of our athletes we have 2 weeks left.  We have a meet this Tuesday at Lincoln HS and then the district championships are next week at Lincoln HS.  We're super excited to see all that hard work our athletes have put in culminate in some amazing performances.

The schedule for the week of 4/29 can be found below:
Monday: All athletes will practice at Lincoln HS from 4:00 - 6:00pm
Tuesday: League meet at Lincoln HS against Benson HS
Wednesday: All athletes will practice at Lincoln HS from 4:00 - 6:00pm
Thursday: All athletes will practice at Lincoln HS from 4:00 - 6:00pm
Friday: All athletes will practice at Lincoln HS from 4:00 - 6:00pm

A couple of really important things for Monday and Friday.  You must be at practice tomorrow in order to participate on Tuesday.  Entries are due Monday night and if you aren't at practice we won't be able to enter you as you will not be able to fill out the QR code.  Additionally you must be at practice on Friday if you intend to compete at JV Districts.  Because the meet is on Monday we need to make sure you will be competing.  We are limited to 10 entries per event and with a team of 241 kids it's hard to find events for everyone.  Because of this we need you at practice Friday to ensure you will be competing.

Our final league meet before districts is next Tuesday against Benson.  We will do senior recognition at 3:45 so please arrive at 3:30.  We will gather seniors on the infield and we would like the parents to be there as well.

We are also still looking for volunteer help for this meet.  We still need 4 slots covered.  No prior knowledge is necessary and we will teach you on the spot.  If we don't find enough volunteers our athletes will have to run the event which will prevent them from having the best day that they can have.  Please sign-up HERE to volunteer.

Lastly, Wednesday will be our second team dinner.  We will meet in the commons after practice and share a meal together.  Cost is 10 dollars per athlete.  Please make a check out to Eric Dettman, bring cash, or venmo me at, @Eric-Dettman.  I prepay for everything so it's on my card.

Please email with any questions.

Thanks for all you do.
