Meet the Head Coach Shailah Ricketts

Coaching Statement-Head Coach Shailah Ricketts

As Head Coach, with over 15 years of coaching experience, I am excited to lead this high school volleyball  team and contribute to the growth and development of each athlete. I have a deep passion for both the  sport and the community it fosters. In my full-time role in HR, I've honed my skills in leadership,  communication, and teamwork, which I bring to the court to create a positive and nurturing environment  for all players. 

Being a mom, has given me a unique perspective on  coaching. I understand the value of creating a supportive and family-like atmosphere, where every  athlete feels welcomed and appreciated. My goal is not only to enhance their volleyball skills but also to  instill life skills and values that will benefit them beyond the court. 

As Head Coach, my primary focus is on ensuring that each athlete has a fulfilling and enriching  experience. I believe that sports can be a powerful platform for personal growth and character  development. I encourage players to challenge themselves, embrace a growth mindset, and persevere  through obstacles. Together, we will celebrate achievements, learn from setbacks, and build lasting  connections as a team. 

2024 Spring/Summer Workouts

High School Open gyms begin April 22nd and take place Mondays and Thursdays from 6-8pm at Lincoln HS. 

8th grade open gyms begin April 17th and take place Wednesdays from 6-8pm at Lincoln HS.

  • COST: $150 per athlete
  • AGE: Incoming 9th-12th graders only.

Cardinal Youth All Skills Camp

2024 Tryout Information

Fall Sports start on Monday August 19th, 2024.  Please make sure you are signed up on FamilyID and have a current physical on file before tryouts.  You will be notified by the Athletics Office once you are cleared to participate.  All prospective athletes trying out for the Volleyball Program must be at all tryout dates.  Teams will be finalized on Wednesday August 21st. 

-Tryout Week Format-

Monday August 19th: 4P-7P Tryouts

Tuesday August 20th: 10A-12P Conditioning & 4P-7P Tryouts

Wednesday August 21st: 4P-7P Tryouts *Team Selections*

Thursday August 22nd: 10A-12P Conditioning, 12P-1P Program Brunch, 1P-230P Mandatory Player Info Sessions, & 4-7P All Team Practices

Friday August 23rd: 2P-4P All Team Practice, 4P-5P Parent Meeting
